"Lito Chincolito"
Illustrations for a children's book written by Regina Lohndorf and Elena Avello, created for the application Kindness Curriculum in Chile
I recieved the book's text and based on that I created the following storyboards for the client to choose from or give a new idea of image.
After talking about the different proposals this became the final storyboard:
Lito, the character, is a little chincol (Zonotrichia capensis), the following were the different proposals I made. Starting with a more realistic aproach, then a more grafic one and finally a more child appealing version:
I also presented the following background for style reference and was approved in the first instance:
We decided that the houses would be very colorful, and the little bird would also live in a human like house.
I also chose that away from the city there'd be orange flowers, to add a pop of color and life in the "calm place" away from the noise.
